The Energy Museum (Energimuseet)

The Energy Museum connects the past, present, and future of energy.
The museum is beautifully located by Lake Tange, where water still drives the turbines at Denmark's largest hydropower plant – Tangeværket – just as it has for more than a century.

A Fascinating Experience for the Whole Family
At the Energy Museum, the whole family can explore the fascinating world of energy.
Dive into the history of energy – from the pitch-black past to a green, sustainable future.
Discover exciting exhibitions and satisfy your curiosity with hands-on activities for all ages. From Easter to the autumn holidays, you can enjoy our popular light shows and "high hair shows," where energy, fun, and learning come together.

Energy, Sustainability, and the Green Transition
The Energy Museum brings the story of energy and the green transition to life, with a special focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production

Visit the Energy Workshop in the main building, where the whole family can test their knowledge and energy consumption through fun games and experiments.
Don't miss our Power-to-X exhibition, where you can learn about groundbreaking new technology that transforms renewable energy into green fuels.

Explore Beautiful Surroundings
The museum’s exhibitions are spread across seven different buildings, all connected by scenic parkland and forest paths.
Situated right next to Lake Tange and Denmark's largest hydroelectric power plant, Tangeværket, you can witness the powerful rushing water that drives the historic turbines and experience the thunderous sound in the generator hall, which has been providing green electricity to Danes for over 100 years.

Welcome to a Day Full of Knowledge and Fun
Whether you're interested in science, history, sustainability – or simply want a fun, educational day out with the family – the Energy Museum offers something for everyone.
